Harry the monkey

Blog of Harry the monkey.

A set up between Pauline who arranged the aquisition of "Harry" the monkey and
Julie who thought it a good idea to 'bond' me with it and become its handler has
ensured that I'm the one now mobbed by a flock of children when visiting.

I'm therefore sure I cannot describe the same sights as the rest of the team.
For me the impression is of what seems like hundreds of the smaller faces with big eyes and wide grins. Such is the attraction of a monkey called Harry, initially one of shock or a double take,
then curiosity and after a while the need to perhaps touch/stroke/pull/prod etc.

Somewhere under this carpet of kids is the path plus open drains, changes in level, grate or lack thereof, but largely I'm unaware of this and equally I'm unaware of theopen doorways either side.
Focus is on keeping the monkey interacting with the crowd, ....
while frantically trying to note which particular small alley the last team member dissapeared down a few moments ago!
With Harry you travel slowly and are always the "tail end" charlie of the crocodile.

The big puppet is working well, there's no problem of a language difference andbig smiles all around. Even from the adults.

  1. What a great photo of Stuart and Harry - Really good of Stuart to let Harry wear his cap in that heat!
